Introduction

Young’s Refractory Materials Ltd. Owns the purest cryatalline magnesite deposit known to exist in the world. The ore has a typical MgO content of over 85%. Since 1984,when its first plant came onstream, Young’s has grown to be of China’s largest producers of high-grade calcined magnesium oxide.

In 1984, Young also began production of refractory grade fused MgO. From what was a pilot plant operation, production was increased annually until in 1988 the decision was made to build a new plant using state of the art technology dedicated to the production of fused MgO. Much of the plant design, which is unique, was done by Young.

Production of fused MgO at Young’s new plant began in 1999. Whth this development, Young’s has become the world’ largest producer of refractory grade fused MgO.

In its first phase, this plant has an annual capacity of 14,000 tons, this will fouble once the third and fourth furnaces are installed under the same roof.

The commitment Young has made to quality is evident at every stage throughout the manufacturing process. Young’s quality assurance program is based on the philosophy that customers should be able to have complete confidence in the quality of its products.

Produced under exacting conditions of quality control, Young’s products are a high-tech raw material of incomparable quality. It is available on a world-wide basis, through a network of agents and distributors.

Young’s line of products is specially designed as a high quality refractory raw material for use in magnesia-carbon bricks and other refractory applications in the steel industry. This material is ideal where high resistance to chemical attack and high refractoriness are needed.

The unique advantages of Young’s MgO include its favorable limesilica ratio of above 2:1, very low boron content, extremely high average crystal size, and high MgO content.
